HIVe Mysuru- ART Update-2017

Originating as counseling-cum-care clinic for People Living with AIDS in 1997, Asha Kirana evolved into a full fledged hospital in 2004 with facilities for general healthcare as well as specialty care for HIV/AIDS. Spread over an acre of land in the peaceful environs of Mysore, the hospital is today a major reference point on the healthscape of Karnataka, receiving a number of HIV/AIDS re)ferrals from far and wide.
Globally, an estimated 35.3 (32.2–38.8) million people were living with HIV in 2012. PLHIV in India is estimated at 21 lakhs in 2011. Children (<15 yrs) account for 7% (1.45 lakhs) of all infections, while 86% are in the age group of 15-49 years. Of all HIV infections, 39% (8.16 lakhs) are among women.
The issues and challenges faced by people infected and affected are complex and evolving over the years. Stigma, discrimination and other social issues in HIV/AIDS continue to challenge even after three decades into the epidemic.
In this background, After a successful of HIVe Mysore- 2015. Asha Kirana in association with SDM-IMD & ASI, is hosting “HIVe Mysore – ART update 2017” on 25th & 26th Feb 2017 to bring a collective of clinicians, researchers, social workers, care providers and various organizations working in the field of HIV/AIDS.
This conference is targeted to family practitioners, physicians, OBYNs, pediatricians and other health care providers to learn and improve quality of care to PLHIV.
Scientific sessions consist of plenary, debates and interactive case scenarios and also offers opportunity for young researchers to submit abstract for oral and poster presentations
The conference secretariat is offering scholarships for over 200 delegates by providing travel and accommodation.
